Convert HEIC Photos to JPG for Aura’s Web Uploader
Winzerk was partly inspired by a real problem: its creator uses and enjoys an Aura frame, but had a folder of HEIC family photos on a Windows PC that needed JPEG copies for Aura’s Web Uploader. This independent Winzerk guide explains the same workflow for anyone who runs into that file-format mismatch.
Why the computer upload method matters
Aura's Web Uploader documentation currently lists JPEG, PNG, and TIFF support. HEIC files on a computer may therefore need conversion before this upload step. This is not a claim that Aura never supports HEIC: its app compatibility guidance currently includes HEIC. Support differs by upload method.
Prepare and upload your family photos
- Add HEIC files to Winzerk. Open the homepage and choose or drop the photos from your computer. You can add multiple files.
- Choose JPG/JPEG. Select JPG under Convert all to. Leave resizing off unless you need smaller images.
- Batch convert. Select Convert All and wait for the images to finish. Check the results before proceeding.
- Download the JPEG files. Use individual downloads or Download All as ZIP. Extract a ZIP first so you have the JPEG files ready to select.
- Upload with Aura. Open Aura's Web Uploader, sign in to your Aura account, select the frame you can contribute to, and upload the JPEGs following Aura's instructions.
Keep a useful quality and size
Aura’s Web Uploader documentation currently specifies a 9.5 MB limit per image. Check each downloaded file; if one is too large, reduce JPEG quality or use proportional resizing and convert it again. Keep the HEIC originals. Conversion does not restore detail, and Exact dimensions can distort the photo if its aspect ratio changes. Preview important family photos before adding them to the frame.
Your photos stay local during conversion
Winzerk decodes and converts the photos in your browser. They are not uploaded to Winzerk. Uploading the finished JPEGs to Aura is a separate action using Aura's service. For a large family collection, download and verify manageable batches.
Winzerk is an independent service and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Aura Frames. Aura is a trademark of its respective owner.
