Convert JPG to PNG

A JPG-to-PNG conversion is useful when an editor, document workflow, or asset importer requires PNG. It can also give you a losslessly compressed intermediate file for later editing without another JPEG compression step at this export.

PNG cannot reverse JPEG compression

The JPEG has already discarded some information. Saving its decoded pixels as PNG keeps existing blur and compression artifacts; it does not sharpen the image or recreate the original. A larger PNG file is not evidence that the image has gained detail.

Convert with Winzerk

Choose your JPG or JPEG files on the homepage, select PNG, and click Convert All. Leave resizing disabled to keep the decoded dimensions. Download individual PNGs or the full batch as a ZIP.

No automatic background removal

Although PNG supports transparency, an ordinary JPEG does not contain a transparent background. Converting a white-background JPG to PNG keeps that white background. Use an image editor if you need to remove it. PNG may also be substantially larger for photographs. If your recipient already accepts JPEG and you are not editing further, conversion may offer no benefit. Winzerk performs the conversion on your device without uploading the files.
